Notes for MARY SEPANICK:

It appears that Mary Szepanek who married Jacob Sabrowski in 1894 was later married to Wilhelm Remus in 1895. However, I cannot confirm this with a death or divorce. However, there are no records of children either. If this is true, then Mary's parents are Michael Szepanek and CHARLOTTE REMUS according to the 1894 marriage record. Her sibling would then be August Szepanek born 1866 who married Wilhelmina Mateski born 1867 on 02 Mar 1893 in Lansing. Also Michael Szepauek (junior) born 1867 in Prussia who married Bertha Tafel born 1873 in Prussia on 31 Jan 1895 in Ionia. And Frederick Szepanick born 1864 (oct 1856 according to the 1900 census) who married Ida Cigelski Albrecht born 1893 on 08 Feb 1920 in Lansing. His earlier wife was named Anna. The latter Frederick and Anna Szepanek family lived nearby in Lansing and they are shown on the previous page of the 1900 census for the 12th ward 2nd precinct; they migrated in 1885. Also on that page is the Johan Szepanek family; Johan migrated in 1892.

But their in possible conflicting information in Census of 1900 for Ingham County MI on Ancestry.com since it shows Barbara Szepanek to be in William and Mary's household and lists Barbara as the mother-in-law. This would be be consistent with the CHARLOTTE REMUS information if Barbara were Michael's second wife and CHARLOTTE REMUS the mother of most of the children. Barbara was born may 1826 in Geermany and migrated to the US in 1892 presumeably with Mary and some of Mary's siblings.

Interestingly, the August and Ida Remus family (August was a cousin to Wilhelm) lived in the house between the Freidrich Szepanek and Johan Szpanek families in 1900.
