Mewe (Gniew)

Mewe (Gniew), Kreis Marienwerder is a lovely and well-protected walled village dating back to the Teutonic Knights era. Below is a view of this village. It was used after the Partitions as a base for the Prussian Army. It has no association with the Remus family other than several church records in the Prussian Army Chaplain's book about the Remus family.
