The 1772 Census of Ossowo

Very fortunately for me, the Vandsburg Grundbuch on lds microfilm 491232 contains copies of the 1772 Census for the village of Ossowo (actually conducted 16 March 1773) that you will see below. Following the standard census questions like who owns the village (question 3), the village's religion (question 4) and who holds the schultz privilege (question 14), you will see a listing of all the members of the village. This first lists the name of the head of household, then 1 for the husband, then 1 for the wife (if alive). Then the number of male children over 12, the number of male children under 12, the number of female children over 12, the number of female children under 12, the number of male hired hands, and the number of female hired hands.
