Barcin, Kreis Schubin is just north of Szczepanowo. My great grandmother Wilhelmine Hardwardt was born in Szczepanowo and baptized there at the Catholic Church. There were family stories that she was intending to become a nun. However, little did we realize she had also been confirmed as a Lutheran at the Barcin Evangelical Church in 1861. It would have been the predecessor of the church shown below. But the proof is in the confirmation certificate also shown below:

Also in the area was Anna Dorothea Schendel who was born in Neudorf near here in 1788. She later married Johan Martin Will and they traveled onward to Volhynia. Click here for their genealogy.
