Battrow (Batorowo), Kreis Flatow, West Prussia
Battrow is the parish church for the Remus family of
Ossowo and the related Weisjahn family of Liskowo. The Remus family acquired the Schultz privileg for Ossowo in the early 1700's and kept it till the end of the Second World War. Click here for the descendents of Christian Remus of Ossowo. The parish church was built as a Lutheran church in 1722. It has an outside Prussian wall construction with a very nice wooden interior. After the Second World War, it was converted to a Catholic Church. It has an unusual red interior. The locals said it was because there was so much extra red paint available following the ousting of the Communists.
