Furtensee, Kreis Pyritz, Pommern

 

 

Furtensee is a manorial estate owned by the von Wedell family as shown on the below display in the church; Falkenberg was also owned by the same family. In the above map, you can see the barns and also the manor house (gut). Furtensee was the head church for this parish and Falkenberg a satellite church.

 

 

 

Following the Second World War, this village was converted from a manorial farm to a state farm. Later the old estate and barns were sold to a business. Here is a picture of the street:

Near to the church are the workers homes from the communist era:

 

 

My interest in this village is that it was the head church for the parish and consequently oversaw the church in another von Wedell village, Falkenberg. Falkenberg is where the Boggs family that married into my Deutschlander family lived.
