Gorki

Gorki near Klodawa in Russian Poland is one of the intermediate villages where the Deutschlander and Weidemann families stayed as they migrated to Volhynia, arriving in 1833. The pictures below show apparently good land, but it was really sandy and life was hard. Also there were few trees in the area, so housing was made of clay.

Anna Louise Deutschlander was born in nearby Zawadka. She married Andreas Weidemann, who was born in Gorki, on September 21, 1845 in Gorki. She died in Gorki on October 07, 1847. Andreas Weidemann married Wilhelmine Kruger on January 02, 1848 in Babiak. The second marriage resulted in the Wiedemann family of Leduc, AB. Click here for the genealogy of this family.
